Fluorspar is used in the making of hydrofluoric acid (HF) for refrigerant applications, or for the production of aluminum fluoride, for aluminum metal production. We have been sourcing our fluorspar from China for over 18 years, and have valuable experience in securing and transporting large quantities of fluorspar. Typical shipment quantities are 20,000 to 40,000 tons, in bulk. A major component of our success in this commodity is our port supervisory services in China. Our representatives are in attendance prior to the arrival of our vessels, to assure that the material is properly stored, and protected from the elements. Representative samples are taken for the issuance of TML ( transport moisture limit ) and the FML (flow moisture limit) certificates, meeting today’s shipping standards.
